We now have 60 years worth of Grandma Ethel's (J's paternal grandmother) diaries here. She kept little five-year diaries all her life, with just a short note each day. There are a few missing, but I don't know if they are gone forever or if they'll turn up in another box of Aunt #1's stuff. Also lots of photos and letters, and bless her, Ethel was wonderful about writing names and dates on photos, so we're reconstructing some bits of family history. So very cool. I'm inspired to get a little five-year book myself and start keeping that type of diary, just because I'm having so much fun reading Ethel's and thinking about my grandchildren or great-grandchildren reading the minutiae of day-to-day life.

I got the books sorted and put away and got the sunroom and family room put back together. The clutter level is starting to bug me, and I have a higher tolerance for that sort of thing than J does, so I know it's got to be driving him mad. The good thing is, it IS clutter, not DIRT. Although I could sweep this place twice a day and still have cat hair tumbleweeds spontaneously develop in the corners...

Punkin's been pushing my buttons a bit these days as far as being a little too much in the take department and not enough in the give department. I've asked her to plan on being home after school for the next two days to help me get the house together.

PS: not enjoying this weather.
